Jackie Propst

Jackie Propst age 74 a resident of Beech Ave. Philippi passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the Louis A Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born December 30, 1934 in Pierce, WV a son of the late Hubert Leon and Martha Adeline (Hershberger) Propst. He was united in marriage May 19, 1963 to E. Jean (Crites) Propst who survives. Also surviving: Two Sons: David Michael and wife Erlinda Propst, Virginia Beach, VA Daniel Keith and wife Judy Propst of Philippi One sister, Barbara Willson, Vineland, NJ One brother, Ronald and wife Fran Propst of Atco, NJ Five Grandchildren; Brandon, Tyson, Linda Joy, Clint and Chris Lyn Two Great-grandchildren; Anthony and Isiah He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Lois Ostroff. Mr. Propst retired as a coal miner from C &W Coal Company. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Propst was a member of the Barbour County Post #44 and was a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday June 30, from 2-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday July 1, from 8:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. the service hour with Rev. Linda Payton officiating. Interment will follow in the Parsons City Cemetery with military rites being accorded.
