Jerry Lyn Ware

Jerry Lyn Ware, age 79, a resident of Ruth St. Mansfield Addition Philippi, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 7, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 3, 1939 in Philippi, a son of the late Paul Blackburn and Ruth Mildred (McBee) Ware. Jerry was united in marriage on April 28, 1963 to Barbara J. (Kurucz) Ware who survives at home. Also surviving Son, Jerry A. Ware of Philippi Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Blackburn Jr. and James H Ware. He was owner of Scott Plumbing and Heating, Delta Mining Supply, part owner in Bartco, and manager of Barbour Country Club. Jerry was a member of ROTC, he was an avid golfer, and sports fan. He was a member of the Crim Memorial United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday April 10, from 5-8 pm and on Wednesday April 11, from 8-11 am the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

    I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. We had been good friends from the time we played against each other in High School some 62 years ago. I will miss him dearly.   2. I am a member of the Delphic Alumni Association – and I am expressing the shock and pain of hearing about the loss of Jerry. He will be remembered as a valued member of the Delphics and as a tremendous athlete at AB. Our hearts and prayers go to his family.
