John William Pyles, age 84, a resident of Locust Ave. Philippi passed away Tuesday September 28, 2010 in Ruby Memorial Skilled Nursing Unit, following complications from cardiac surgery. He was born April 24, 1926 in Randolph Co. a son of the late William and Flarna (Delauder) Pyles. He is survived by his wife of 58 yrs whom he married on December 29, 1951 Arreda M. (Louk) Pyles.
One son: Robert A. Pyles and daughter-in-law: Linda L. Frey of Bethel Park, PA
Two grandsons: Justin M. Pyles of Bethel Park, PA, David A. Pyles of University Park, PA
Mr. Pyles was the last surviving member of his family having been preceded in death by two brothers, and one sister.
Mr. Pyles was a retiree from the Consolidated Coal Company. He served in the US Navy during World War II, he was a member of the Bigelow Lodge # 52 AF & AM, and regularly attended the New Beginnings Church in Moatsville.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday October 1, from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday October 2, from 8 -11 a.m. the service hour with Rev. Kenny Kendall officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Military honours being accorded and the Bigelow Lodge #52 conducting graveside rites.
