Judith "Judy" Burner, age 73, a resident of Rt. 1 Independence Community Philippi passed away Sunday January 1, 2012 in the Acute Care Unit of Broaddus Hospital after suffering from a fall at her home on November 16, 2011. She was born April 5, 1938 at home in Independence Community Philippi a daughter of the late Arley R. and Garnet H. (Hudkins) Burner. She is survived by three sisters:
Agnes England of Belington
Beverly Poe and husband Dewey
Jacky Sue Malcolm and husband Charles both of Philippi
Several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathleen Lee Burner, Carol Allen and Christine Jones; seven brothers, Russell Burner, Brooks L. Burner, Sr., Arley Burner, Jr. Gail Burner, Donald Burner, Richard Burner and Carl David Burner.
Judy was a homemaker and enjoyed cross stitching and working crossword puzzles, and was a Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday January 3, from 3-8 pm and on Wednesday January 4, from 8-11 am the service hour with Ms. Krysta Rexrode Wolfe and Rev. Timothy Bleigh officiating. Interment will follow in the Mary's Chapel Cemetery.
