Aunt June was a large presence in my childhood. Our families spent many days together at the cabin, laughing, playing cards and enjoying the outdoors. We hope she will find peace in being reunited with Bill, Mark and Eric. Our thoughts and prayers are with Amie, Nancy and Sheri in your time of grief.
Aunt June was an amazingly calming influence on all of us rotten boys. She was very quiet, but I loved to hear her wonderful county accent and she had a really nice giggle that could make anybody smile. One time she caught Eric and Me teasing her little and skiddish Calico cat, she chased us around the house and out the back door. Ten minutes later we were in the house eating one of her home made deserts and being reminded of the importance of treating small creatures properly. We were 9 or 10 at the time but her quiet and stern lesson has always remained with me. It makes me smile to imagine her at the great family reunion in the afterlife and I hope she is at peace surrounded by loved ones.
Amie, My deepest condolences go to you with the passing of your grandmother. I hope that you find comfort in the memories that you made with her. Praying for your family. Shelly Skelton
You know you just had to love our Aunt June. Her abundance of charm and beauty were unrivaled in my eyes and she was just so darn cute.I will never forget the times spent with Uncle Bill,Mark and Eric and the whole extended Starliper clan at Grandads cabin in the summers. One of my favorite rememberances of her will always be of her referring to Erik as “honery and rotten” but always laughing when she said it.To this day I can not hear or say those two words without smiling and thinking of my Aunt June
