Kathleen Joyce Swick

Kathleen Joyce (Haller) Swick, 87 a resident of Elkins, WV passed away from this life August 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathleen was born August 5, 1938, in Simpson, the daughter of the late Willie Haller and Mary (Bays) Haller.
Kathleen is survived by her four children, Linda Marshall of Canton, OH, Dearl James Swick Jr, and wife Maria of Bridgeport WV, Cathy Jo Fincham and husband Kermit, Jr. “Bingo” of Winfield, WV, and Crystal Dawn Zirkle of Elkins; nine grandchildren, Joseph Marshall of Canton, OH, Angelene Marshall of Niles, OH, Frank Marshall DelMastro of Ardemore, PA, Jessica Snopps of Bridgeport, WV, Kenny Edwards of Bridgeport, WV, Travis Knotts of Parsons, WV, Amanda Fincham of Eleanor, WV, Ashley Nease of Hurricane, WV, and Katelyn Zirkle of Elkins, WV; ten great-grandchildren, Viviana, Giada, Francesca, Cordina, Christopher, Owen, Silas, Dustin, Ryan and Isabella “Izzi”; one brother, Donald Haller.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Pauline Swick, Irene Thompson, Betty Mullenax, Albert Haller and Willie Haller, Jr.
Kathleen was a homemaker committed to her family. She was best known for her love of cooking and baking for her family and friends She always made sure her guest never left hungry. She was known for her homemade bread, fried dough, donuts, chili, stuffed peppers and sweet potatoes just to name a few. Kathleen loved spending time with her family and friends; she loved to travel to Pigeon Forge, TN and the beach.
She will be remembered for her strength, courage, determination, love and joy she brought to those lucky enough to know her.

Family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 12-2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 2:00pm with Pastor Howard Swick officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
