Kathryn "Kathy" Ann True

February 14, 1957 ~ November 18, 2025

Born in: Sewickley, Pennsylvania
Resided in: Moatsville, West Virginia

Kathryn “Kathy” Ann True, 68, of Moatsville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at United Hospital Center, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1957, in Sewickley, PA, Kathy was the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas Rock and Beulah DeVere (Heatherly) Rock. On May 23, 1981, she married her best friend and partner in everything, Robert “Bobby” L. True Jr. Together they built a life full of love, hard work, and family.

Kathy’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her daughter, Candice Stone, and husband Jeff, and her two grandsons, Mitchell and Clayton, who were the absolute light of her life. She is also survived by her brother, Tim Rock, and wife Cindy; nephews Jason, Jared, and Justin Rock; and extended family Sloan and Mark Ireland, Hunter and Caleb Ireland, along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones who were blessed to be part of her life.

She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved son, Clifford True; her brother Thomas Rock and his wife Mary Linda; and her niece Theresa Rock, all of whom she missed deeply.

Kathy spent her career serving her community—working as a Program Technician for the USDA Farm Service Agency, secretary for the Farm Bureau, and earlier with the Salvation Army. But her true calling was caring for others. She poured her heart into everything she did, whether leading Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts, tending her garden, or raising the sheep, pigs, and cattle she loved.

Kathy had a gift for making a house feel like a home. She was known for her immaculate cleaning, her warm smile, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. She loved vacations, family gatherings, and any moment spent with the people she cared for. Her faith was a guiding part of her life, and she served her church family at Crossroads United Methodist Church as a former Administrative Counselor.

Family and friends may gather to remember and celebrate Kathy’s life at Wright Funeral Home and On-Site Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St., Philippi, on Saturday, November 22 from 4–8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. A funeral service will follow on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Sam Haught officiating. Interment will be in Crossroads Cemetery at Tacy, where she will rest in peace beside loved ones.

Kathy leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and forever cherished by those who loved her most.
