Kenneth Gene Ball, age 84, a resident of Rt. 3 Clemtown Community in Philippi,WV passed away Tuesday August 28, 2012 in the Hospice Care Regional Center in Elkins, following a brief illness. He was born August 18, 1928 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Forrest Hobart and Hallie L. (Boner) Ball. He was united in marriage on November 10, 1952 to Agnes Louise (Murphy) Ball who survives.
Also surviving are three children:
Richard Gene Ball and wife Sharon (Wright) of Philippi
Deborah Louise Johnson and husband Ronnie of Raleigh, NC
Diana Lynne McGeehan and husband Thomas “Tuck” of Raleigh, NC.
Sister: Ruby M. Murphy of Youngstown, OH Grandchildren: Emily Nicole (Ball) Johnson and husband Brian of Suwanee, GA, Amanda (Ball) Jean Zorosky and husband Garrett of Smithfield, PA, Christopher Kenneth Ball and wife Amanda (Wagner) of Philippi, and Tully Finn McGeehan of Raleigh, NC
Great Grandchildren: Brooke Cecilia, and Audrey Claire Johnson of Suwanee, GA, and Caleb Richard Ball of Philippi.
Mr. Ball was preceded in death by two brothers: F.H. “Buddy” Ball, and John Edwin Ball.
He worked as a welder and superintendent for Galis Manufacturing/FMC Corp. and was a teaching instructor of Industrial Maintenance for Marion County Technical Center.
Mr. Ball served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a past member of the I.O.O.F Lodge # 59, and former member and guitar player for the Good Ole Boys. He loved music and reading, and was a Protestant by Faith.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday August 31, from 5-8 pm and on Saturday September 1, from 8 am -2 pm the service hour, with Rev. Burl Haddix officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery with military honours being accorded. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Arden or Nestorville Community Centers, or a charity of your choice.







Jerry & I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Richard's dad and Emily's grandfather. My thoughts are with you in this time of loss. You have our deepest sympathy. Nancy & Jerry Moore.
Jilian and I were very sorry to learn of Uncle Kenny's passing. We were lucky to see him a few years ago at a Ball reunion. He played his guitar and we all had a great time. We will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear of Kenneth's passing. I was a very good friend of his daughter, Diana. Although I only met Kenneth once, I was impressed by what a kind and loving man he was. He will be sorely missed and I offer my warmest condolences to his family.
