Linda Lou Kalvesmaki, age 73, of Philippi, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at River Oaks Healthcare Center in Clarksburg, surrounded by love.
Linda was born on May 29, 1952, in Webster Springs, the daughter of the late Mike Clemith Farley and Georgia Ethel (Bailey) Farley.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness and creativity touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Kalvesmaki; her son, Matthew Kalvesmaki and wife Maranda; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Jack Farley and wife Shortie of Tunnelton, and her sister Susie Radcliff of Martinsburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Kalvesmaki, her sisters Margaret Farley and Jane Farley, and her brothers John, Max, Jim, and Donnie Farley.
Linda had a heart for helping others. She volunteered at the Hospice Thrift Store and spent many joyful summers helping with Bible School at Cornerstone Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, making crafts, and cooking—especially her famous homemade bread that family and friends looked forward to. Above all, Linda’s greatest joy came from spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
In honoring Linda’s wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Linda’s life was a beautiful example of love, faith, and generosity, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
