Marvin Wade Bolton, age 80, a resident of Belington, passed away after a short illness surrounded by his wife and family on Tuesday January 14, 2025 in Broaddus Hospital. Marvin was born November 5, 1944, in Barbour County a son of Walter “Slim” Wade and Margaret Reta (Wagner) Bolton. Marvin was united in marriage on June 20, 1964, to Pauline Mae (Booth) Bolton.
Marvin was a member of the Barbour Church of Christ. He was the owner and operator of Bolton’s Plumbing and Heating for over 25 years and later worked as the supervisor of the maintenance department for the WV Correctional Service. Marvin cherished his family and absolutely adored his grandchildren and great granddaughter. During the summer months he would spend countless hours with his granddaughter looking through the telescope at the stars. Marvin enjoyed woodworking, ride mowing his lawn, and loved to go camping. He was known as the bird whisper, and he took great pride in his fishpond. He was the Jack of all Trades and master of many.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife Pauline Bolton; children Becky Grimes and husband Joseph, Belinda Johnson and husband GT; grandchildren Jessica Cecil and husband Jackson, Samantha Johnson, and Olivia Grimes; great-grandchildren Juliet Cecil and Tyler Roy; sisters Waunita Hatmaker and husband Charles, Loretta Wilmoth and husband William; several brothers and sisters -in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Walter “Slim” and Margaret Bolton; Mother-in-Law Virginia Booth whom he adored; sister and brother-in-law Louise Bennett and husband Delbert, brother Albert Bolton; and close friend Bucky Poling.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

My heart is breaking for Pauline and the girls, as well as the rest of the family. Marvin was a huge part of my life growing up and he never hesitated to come and help me if I needed anything. He seemed to always see me first and yell out my name or wave. I will miss his smile. He will truly be missed.
