I lived across from Michael and his family in Belington for many years. We went to school together and I always thought he was a nice guy. His wife was a sweetheart. Have not seen him for years thoigh
We are so sorry Debbie, prayers for peace and comfort in the days ahead
As a long-time member of B.A.S.S. Nation of West Virginia, Mike relished the opportunity to represent us and the Great State of West Virginia. He was a multiple Team Trail Series event Champion and had earned his way to multiple State Teams, the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship, and multiple Bassmaster Team Championships, having just returned home from competing at last week’s event on Kentucky Lake, TN.
Mike also served us for many years as our General Delegate and then Northern Delegate on our Board of Directors. Mike was also heavily involved in our Youth Program as both a mentor and Boat Captain/Coach to many of our Jr. & High School members. And very few of our Conservation Projects occurred without Mike’s dedicated involvement.
Mike was always fast with an encouraging, congratulatory, or appreciative comment. I enjoyed our conversations and meals together (Mike loved sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast). He was a good friend to all and will be missed greatly and remembered fondly.
Debbie, please know that you are in our prayers for comfort and strength.

Mike was an individual that I met years ago fishing local waters and tournaments. I cannot remember the exact event, but after the weigh in, I talked with him for a few minutes and I immediately knew Mike Moore was an individual who was a stand up type of guy. Mike was to me the complete angular. He always seemed to be on the water when I was! One cold late winter day, I decided to go to Tygart, and low and behold, Mike was already on the water in his blue/white Ranger. We were the only 2 guys there all day. Normal guys would have been home, somewhere warm, but when it came to fishing, he gave it his all. He will be missed, and I am a better person for having been associated with Mike. Godspeed my friend.
I’m very sorry for your loss. Mike was a good friend and fishing buddy. I will miss seeing him on the water.
Tim
