Mitchell Allen McCord

Mitchell “Mitch” Allen McCord, age 43, a resident of Philippi, passed away unexpectedly Saturday December 2, 2023. Mitch was born March 30, 1979, in Philippi, a son of the late Gary McCord and Jill (Parsons) McCord who survives. Mitch was united in marriage to Devan Nichole McCord who survives at home. Also surviving; daughters Makaylyn, Aubree, and Kaylee McCord; sister, Stacy McCord of Philippi; brother, Gary McCord, Jr. and niece Emma of Philippi; Aunt Sherry Stutler of Flemington, as well as many additional aunts, uncles and cousins; Cousins, Jeff Starkey, and Minnie Radojevic and husband Gile of Lodi, NJ; Best friend LeRoy Foster and wife Alicia of Centerview, MS; Sister-in-Law; Korey Robinson. Mitch was an avid hunter and fisherman; he loved riding his Harley. He loved his family very much; he was a very giving and caring person as well as funny. Mitch was a wonderful husband and father and loved his children more than anything. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday December 7, from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 pm with Pastor Shirley Webster officiating.

  1. Mitch you are truly going to be missed. We grew up together and went to school together. I’m gonna miss you so much.

  2. I remember I spent a lot of my early childhood with Mitch and Devan, Mitch always made jokes and always knew how to light up a room with his jokes and his big smile. I’ll for sure miss him.

  5. I remember the day I met Mitchell in school. I’m meeting him with big Rocky . He took up for me once in school. He has a good person and he’s going to be pissed. I’m sorry for your causes loss so too young he is a really good friend he’s always there for you for the good and bad times

  7. My thoughts are with you and the girls at this difficult time. I am so sad and shocked to hear of my dear, former student’s passing. I have great memories of him that I will always cherish (his laughter, his devilish smile, his bravado….) He loved you and the girls so much; that is all he loved chatting to me about.
