Norma Jean McVicker, age 86, a resident of Philippi, passed away Tuesday April 16, 2024 in the Rosewood Center in Grafton. Norma was born January 6, 1938 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Orval W. and Veta Blanche (Swick) McCauley. Norma was united in marriage to her former husband James R. “Sut” McVicker on May 3, 1957.
Norma loved putting puzzles together, making crafts, and playing bingo. She loved spending time with grandchildren and adored her feline companions. Norma attended Mariah’s Chapel Church.
Norma was the matriarch of her family, she is survived by son James L. McVicker and wife Betty; granddaughter Bridget Mayle and Nathaniel; great- grandchildren Katelyn, Luke and Leah Mayle; great -great grandchild Harper Mayle; and several nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents Orval and Veta McCauley; brothers Carol and James McCauley; and two infant sisters.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday April 20, from 4-8 pm and on Sunday April 21, from 11 am- 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm with Pastor Rick Kerns officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.







Norma was such a sweet friend. We shared a lot over the years. She was always a good listener. She loved her family and her fur babies. Norma always loved to shop and we really enjoyed our trips to the mall and eating at Bob Evans. She was such a good friend and she’ll be missed by many 💔🙏🏻😥
