Norman Douglas Costilow

Norman Douglas “Doug” Costilow, 68, of Flemington, WV, passed away on December 3, 2025, at United Hospital Center.

Born on December 31, 1956, in Grafton, WV, Doug was the son of the late Hayward and Mildred Maxine (Exline) Costilow. He shared 47 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Patricia Darlene (Moore) Costilow, a partnership marked by devotion, laughter, and unwavering support.

Doug was a proud and loving father to his daughters: Chasity Marie Costilow of Flemington; Tasha Sue Nooner and husband Christopher of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; Christy Marie Bunner of Morgantown; and Brittney McCord of Grafton. He was a cherished grandfather to Gage Kirk and wife Ashley; Brianna Danielle Moats and husband Shawn; Aniya Love; and Aleah Love, Gavin, Britt, and Tyler Nooner He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Riley McCord, Scarlett Kirk, Olivia Kirk, Emberly Moats, and Louella Moats, who brought him immense joy.

He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Sue Lindsey of Charleston. He was preceded in death by his brothers, David Costilow and Hayward Costilow Jr.

Doug found his greatest peace in the outdoors. Whether fishing, camping, or simply enjoying nature’s quiet moments, he felt most at home under open skies. Known for always fixing something, he had a talent for working with his hands and a willingness to help anyone who needed it. His family and friends will remember him for his steady presence, his practical wisdom, and the warm, easygoing spirit that made him so deeply loved.

Doug’s legacy lives on in the family he adored and the many lives he touched.  Service will be private.
