Robert David Shanabarger, age 62, a resident of Wheeling, WV passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday July 23, 2025 helping his friends. David was born August 14, 1962 in Philippi a son of Robert Vance and Virginia Mae (Dean) Shanabarger.
David was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith and enjoyed telling others about his hope of living forever in a paradise on earth. He loved coming home every weekend and riding his 4 wheeler with his brother Steve. He loved swimming and working outside. He will be deeply missed.
David is survived by his mother, Virginia Shanabarger; three brothers Steven Philip Shanabarger, William Raymond Shanabarger and wife Sami, Daniel Lynn Shanabarger and wife Christy; three sisters Cynthia Mae Maxson and husband Joe, Gina Nell Moening and husband Dave, and Jennifer Rochelle Jackson and husband Bobby; aunts Mary Jones, Helen Shanabarger, Christine Sherman; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and his best friend his dog Dude; and his close friends Tim and Cannon.
David was preceded by death by his father Robert Vance Shanabarger.

I’m so shocked and sorry to hear David passed away. My heart goes out to your entire family. All of your hearts have to be torn into a million pieces. Please know you’re in my thoughts and prayers.
We knew David through our son Bill, when he visited Bill he came to visit us and we got to know him a lot better. We like our son, loved him ! We have the promise of our Father in heaven WE WILL MEET AGAIN. Our sympathies go out to his family.
