Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I will never forget traveling from Maryland to West Virginia to spend vacations with my family. Aunt Shirley and the boys always arrived shortly after we got to Grandma’s. She greeted us with so much love, I can still remember her hugs. I have many fond memories of her smiles and I can still hear her laughter. One especially when we were baking Aunt Dorothy’s wedding cake… I can still see her face…in wonder of how this would all come together…but supporting me through the process. Ronnie and Terry you are very special to me also. Memories of times spent together always run through my mind.. You both and your families are in my heart and in my prayers during this sad time.. Sending much love and hugs!! Brenda

  2. I’m so very sorry for your loss. I only had the pleasure of meeting Shirley once, but we spoke several times on the phone. She was well loved. My deepest sympathy.

My condolences and prayers for the family.

  4. I’m so sorry for your loss. I will greatly miss her at Walgreens, she was one special customer and lady. Rip shirley

  5. My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences go out to the family. Shirley and the Bender family were the best neighbors I ever had. Shirley and I stayed in touch after I moved to Virginia. She was one of my dearest friends. When I would come in to visit family in West Virginia, I would always try to make time to take Shirley out to lunch or dinner. Sometimes we would go sightseeing. We had the blessing of being able to go to Blackwater Falls one year and to Cool Springs Park another year. In recent years, with failing health, both she and I, we had to resort to phone conversations, cards and notes. I will certainly miss those conversations on the phone. Sometimes we would laugh and sometimes it was all we could do not to cry. Rest in peace, dear friend, in the Loving Arms of Jesus.
