Shirley Marsh

Shirley Jane Marsh, born May 16, 1935 in Philippi, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 peacefully, surrounded by family. She was wife to the late Donald Gene Marsh, united in marriage on June 25, 1955 and the two shared a long and loving life together. Shirley spent her spare time at home being outside in her yard, had a love for bowling, and was an active member of the Tacy Cross Roads United Methodist Church. She loved her family, and spent a great deal of time enjoying their company. Shirley was daughter to the late Harry and Dora Stone, and is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Cochran, and her brother, Jim Stone. Shirley is survived by three daughters and son-in-laws: Becky and Jim Parker of Moundsville, WV; Sherri and Don Hustead of Dillonvale, OH; and Tracey and Bob Howell of Moatsville, WV. She is also survived by five grandchildren and their families, including three great grandchildren: Hope and Chris Tyler; D.J., Nichole, and Lauren Schier; Jason, Stacy, Alyssa, and Rowen Parker; Eric and Lisa Schier; and T.C. Howell and his fiancée, Beth Ann Daugherty. She is also survived by many other family members, including brother and sister-in-laws, nephews, and nieces. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday, July 2nd from 6- 8pm and on Wednesday, July 3rd from 8am- 12pm. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm with Pastor Julie Dean officiating. Mrs. Marsh will be laid to rest at the Marsh Cemetery in Tacy, WV. In lieu of flowers, we ask that her final wishes be observed and donations be made to Mountain Hospice, 1600 Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250.
