Sylvia D. “Patty” Sandy-Rowan age 76 a resident of Dowden Rd. Philippi passed away on Wednesday September 9, 2015 in the Good Samaritan Center of Barbour County. Patty was born October 13, 1938 in Flemington, WV a daughter of the late Fred D. and Virginia M. (Kelley) Streets. Patty was twice married first on April 18, 1959 to Paul Edgar Sandy Sr. who preceded her in death on October 24, 1999, and second on September 14, 2006 to John E. Rowan who survives. Also surviving One daughter, Kimberly A. Depoy and husband Dewayne of Philippi Two sons, Paul “P.J. Sandy and wife Barbie of Ramstein-Pfalz, Germany Phil Sandy of Waynesburg, PA Two sisters, Janet Kenney and husband Tom of Summersville Jeanie Sandy and husband Ralph of OH One brother, Charles Streets of Buckhannon Sister-in-law, Wahneta Streets of Elkins Former daughter-in-law, Dale Sandy of Buckhannon Three grandchildren, Pete Sandy and wife Alicia of Buckhannon, Dustynn Marie Hollen of Buckhannon, Brooke Depoy of Philippi Three great-grandsons, Bo Hollen, Bryar and Baylor Sandy Special friend, Judy Boylen of Philippi Several nieces and nephews Patty was preceded in death by four brothers, Fred Junior, Richard Lee, Burnard “Butch” and Willard “Willie” T. Streets. Patty was a homemaker, she enjoyed quilting and working crossword puzzles, she also worked the voting polls. Patty was a member of the Queens Chapel United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday September 11, from 4-8 pm and on Saturday September 12, from 8am- 1 pm the service hour with Pastor Randy Simms and Pastor Jack Streets officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Saturday September 12, 2015, 1 pm at Wright Funeral Home Click for Map and Directions
