Sylvia Lorean (Auvil) Boyles, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2023 in the Broaddus Hospital. She was born in Tucker County on March 7, 1930. Sylvia was united in marriage on June 29, 1954, to Calvin Boyles who preceded her in death on August 2, 1994.
Sylvia is survived by daughters Barbara Cirillo and husband Rock of Indianapolis, IN, Terri Nida and husband Jeff of Philippi, son Jack Boyles of Philippi, granddaughter Krista Neely and husband Jeremy of Bridgeport, and two great grandsons Parker Neely and Connor Neely of Bridgeport, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Sarah Auvil and six brothers, Wayne Auvil, Walter Auvil, Robert Auvil, John Auvil, Junior Auvil, Noble Auvil, along with seven sisters, Elnora Poling, Goldia Wilson, Laura Poling, Lyda Dumire, Pearl Wratchford, Caroline Poling and Nellie Ruth Auvil. Sylvia was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Sylvia was a devout Christian and lived her life to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and to share with others about his love and salvation. She loved Gospel music and played the piano and sang at numerous churches and attended the Brushy Fork Church in Tucker County and Christian Fellowship Chapel in Philippi.
Sylvia dearly loved her family and had a deep passion for giving to others. She will be dearly missed by her family and all that knew her.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday July 18, from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday July 19, from 11am- 1 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Tacy Crossroads Cemetery.
