Theodore Brooks Payne, age 83, a resident of Century, WV passed away Friday February 1, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 21, 1929 in Barbour Co. a son of the late William Earl and Anna Marie (Curkendall) Payne. He was united in marriage to Jewell Faith Payne who preceded him in death in 1994. Surviving are children

10 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one expected great-grandchild due in March
Mr. Payne was preceded in death by one brother, Mason Payne and one sister Lorraine Cox. He retired from Bethlehem Mines # 101. He enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday February 3, from 6-8 pm and on Monday February 4, from 8 am -3 pm the service hour with Rev. Wease Day officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

Sorry to hear about Teddy's passing. My sympthay goes out to the Payne family; I have many wonderful childhood memories that includes the Payne family; especially Bill and Joe.

He was a wonderful man. He was like a second father to me growing up. I will always remember the good times with the family, his daughter “Cyn” was my very best friend we were always together. Thoughts and Prayers to all.
