My thoughts and prayers are with all the family and friends. Mrs.Allen was a great teacher and very special lady. I can remember when I was six grade she would take six students to her house and fix lunch for them. Each day she would take different students. She took me one day. We would walk to her house from Jr.High school in Philippi .She would cook for us. She was a great cook. Then we would walk back to school. She will be missed by many.
Mrs. Allen was my teacher in middle school at Philippi. She was one of my favorite teachers and one of the best I ever had. Every child should have a teacher like Mrs. Allen. My deepest condolences to her family!

Velma was a generous loving caring lady we were so blessed to have known. I will forever treasure the book she wrote, the quilt she made and happy memories in WV.
May the love of God and the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ bless and console her family and gently wipe every tear from their eyes.
I always loved to see Miss Velma’s name on the schedule to come in for a visit. Always got the biggest hugs and kisses hello and goodbye. One of the most friendly, sweet, kind, and gentle people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She WILL be deeply missed. Praying for Barbara, Amy, and all the family at this sorrowful time. Love, Sonja
Our condolences to the family of our cousin, Velma, from the family of Ellen Funk Coffman, her 1st cousin via Aunt Sylvia Goff Bolyard. The twins, Linda and Brenda Coffman, have many fond memories of visiting the Bolyards at their home/farm and loved all of the family they got to know there. Velma would call our home in Florida to talk, for many times to our mother, Ellen and then after her passing in March of 2018 to the twins to keep in touch. We will miss those calls. Love and hugs to all of the family. Linda, Brenda, father Frederick (Bud) Coffman and brother Edward and his wife, Nelly.
