Vickie Wolfe

Vickie Cheryl Wolfe, 63, of Moatsville, WV, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013, at her home after a long and valiant fought illness. Vickie was born at Salt Lick, WV, on September 30, 1949, a daughter of the late Junior C. Sypolt and Hazel (Haught) Sypolt of Terra Alta. Vickie was married to John M. Wolfe, of Moatsville, who survives. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in April. She is also survived by her son, Christopher M. Wolfe and wife Jennifer and by her daughter, Catharine M. Wolfe, all of Moatsville. She is survived by her three precious and devoted grandchildren, Grandsons, Gavin and Dylan Wolfe, and granddaughter, Kennedy Wolfe. Also surviving, are her two sisters, Elaine Frazee of Terra Alta and Judy Starcher and companion, Raymond Funk, of Kingwood, and a brother, Steve Sypolt, and wife, Donna, of Terra Alta and by her sister-in-law, Margaret Jean Mackey and husband, Bud of Springfield, Missouri. She is also survived by one nephew and four nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Broes and Mae (Lantz) Haught and her paternal grandparents, Ray and Lottie (Myers) Sypolt. She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Donald Frazee. Vickie graduated from Terra Alta High School with the class of 1967. She graduated nursing school at Kings Daughters Hospital School of Nursing in Martinsburg, WV, in 1970, and also completed training at Philadelphia General Hospital in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Preston Memorial Hospital and later at Preston Home Health. She later retired from the Preston County Health Department in Kingwood, where she made many friends throughout the county. Vickie was a member of New Beginnings Church in Kasson, WV. It was Vickie’s request that she be cremated. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday, July 31, from 10:00-11:00 am at which time a memorial service will be conducted with Rev. Kenny Kendall officiating.
