Wayne "Pete" Dale Corder

Wayne “Pete” Dale Corder, Sr., age 84, a resident of Galloway, passed away Wednesday August 14, 2024 at his residence. Pete was born January 15, 1940 in Galloway, a son of the late James B. and Claribel (Skidmore) Corder. Pete was united in marriage on April 19, 1960 to Jeanette Sue (Cottrill) Corder who survives. Pete worked as a dozer operator for several companies such as King Knob Coal Company, SW Jack, Victory Construction, Kelley Construction, and Alfred Construction. He enjoyed gardening, canning, hunting, and visiting family. Pete is survived by his wife Jeanette Corder; children Wayne “Butch” Corder Jr. and wife Shelia of Rosemont, Timothy Corder of Galloway, Michael Corder of Galloway and Jennifer Welch and husband Christopher of Flemington; grandchildren Steven, Ashley, Brittany, Tyler, Berkley, Timothy Jr. “TJ”; seven great-grandchildren; brother James Corder of Fairmont; sister Barbara “June” Wolverton and husband Jack of Grafton. Pete was preceded in death by five siblings Glen “Bud” Corder, Juanita Hannigan, Shirley “Joan” Tait, Richard “Dick” Corder, and his twin Wanda” Gale” Sanders. Family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday August 16, from 4- 8 pm and on Saturday August 17, from 9- 11 am. Funeral services will be held at 11am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Brown officiating.
