Wesley H. Gillis, Jr., age 51, a resident Pierpont Center in Fairmont, WV, and a former resident of Philippi passed away Thursday September 19, 2019. Wesley was born January 1, 1968 in Barbour County, a son of the late Wesley M. Gillis Sr., and Betty Lou (Severe) Gillis. Surviving is former wife and friend, Lisa Gillis-Harris of Philippi

Rebekah Ashley Berga both of Philippi
Son, Jared Wilson Gillis and partner Darin Shreve of Lost Creek
Special friend, Bonnie Cox, of Philippi
Sister, Kathy Powell of Monroeville, NC
Brother, Jimmy Gillis of Belington
Grandchildren, Macie and McKinlee Berga
Several nieces and great nieces and nephews
Wesley was preceded in death by sister, Kimberly Sue Peterson. He was a past truck driver for Benson Trucking. Wesley was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved spending time outdoors.
In honor of Wesley’s request cremation will be honored.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday September 28, from 3-5 pm. Memorial service will be held at 5 pm with Rev. Jim Marshall officiating.
