Albert Romain

Albert Joseph Romain Sr., age 83 a resident of Rt. 3 Philippi passed away Monday August 8, 2011 in the John Manchin Health Care Center in Fairmont. He was born June 23, 1928 in Reynoldsville, WV a son of the late Arthur and Denise (Jumet) Romain. He was united in marriage on May 14, 1955 to Joyce (Bershok) Romain who survives. Also surviving Three daughters: Geralyn Vavrek and husband Frank of PA Denise Sacchetti and husband John of Fairmont Annette Hughes and Companion Roy of CA Three sons: Albert Romain Jr. and wife Julie of Fairmont Andrew Romain and wife Tammy of Morgantown Eric Romain and wife Lavonda of AZ One sister: Emilia Ash and husband John of Bridgeport One brother: Raymond Romain and wife Patty of PA 11 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren Mr. Romain was preceded in death by one infant daughter Michelle Romain, one grandson Donald Romain, two brothers: Roger and George Romain, and father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Alice Bershok. Mr. Romain was a technical representative for Drott Manufacturing in Wisconsin. He served in the US Airforce from 1948-52 during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #44, the WV Farm Bureau, and assisted with the opening of the Barbour County Recycling Center where he worked part time for several years. He was also a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday August 11, from 2-4 and 5-8 pm. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm on Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday August 12, at 9 am at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Fr. Jim O'Connor as celebrant. Interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery with military honours being accorded. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to WVAlzheimers Association 1218 Market St. Clarksburg, WV 26301.
