Arthur Wellington “Shady” Marsh, age 88, a resident of Mountaineer Road, Philippi, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019 in Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born February 11, 1931 in Barbour County, a son of the late James Wesley and Linnie Crim (Auvil) Marsh. He was united in marriage on July 10, 1951 to Velma Rosalie “Rose” (Poling) Marsh who survives at home. Also surviving-

Seven Grandchildren- Brandy Michelle Bond and husband Dan of Vienna, WV; Jessica Marie Parker and husband Chris of South Charleston; Lewis Quay Baxter III and Paige Lansky of NC; USMCR Major Steven Arthur Baxter of Las Vegas; Michael Seth Baxter of GA; Matthew Thomas Baxter of GA; and Army Specialist Noah Thomas Marsh of Nestorville whom is currently deployed.
Six Great-Granchildren- Dylan Michael Bond; Brenna Nicole Bond, Brylee Kate Bond, Charlotte Mae Parker, Nolan Christopher Parker and Cypress Quay Baxter
Mr. Marsh was preceded in death by two brothers, Elbert and Delbert Marsh; two sisters, Violet Mae Gribble and Nellie B. Nestor
He was an Oiler for the UMWA District #17 Local 1501 and an avid farmer and fisherman. He was also an Ordained Minister.

Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday, July 10th from 8am-1pm the service hour with Rev. Jimmy Johnson and Rev. Gary L. Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Central Chapel Cemetery.
