Barbara Saffle

April 5, 1944 ~ January 21, 2016

Barbara Ann Saffle went to be with her lord and savior on Thursday January 21, 2016. She was born on April 5, 1944 to the late Curnel and Delta (Winans) Evix. She is survived by two sons; Timothy Saffle and wife Tina, and John Saffle and wife Carissa both of Audra Community. Special friend who loved her with all his heart Darwin Casto of Buckhannon Two grandsons Timothy Saffle and Alix and Kenny Saffle of Audra Community One granddaughter Brittany and Michael Mitchell of Arden Two great-grandsons, Asher and Brantlee Mitchell of Arden; one great-granddaughter, Ariana Sullivan of Philippi. Three additional grandsons David Saffle, Timothy “Crowe” Rowe and Steven Rice all of Audra Community, and granddaughter Kayla and Arron Sullivan of Philippi One special daughter Debra Evix Benton and husband Ray and special granddaughter Ashley Talbott of North Carolina One brother Thomas and Brenda Evix of Belington Three sisters Sylvia and Robert Haddix of Audra Community, Linda and Eric Maylee of Carrolton, Rd, Marlene and Frank Ware of Hall Rd. One brother-in-law Albert Skarya of Philippi Several nieces and nephews Barbara was preceded in death by one brother Odvert Dale Evix, sister Connie Mae Skarya, one granddaughter Precious Ann Potter and two nephews Jeff and Thomas “Little Tom” Evix Barbara really enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved to travel and see new places. She worked at the Assessor’s Office, as an Administrative Assistant for the real estate agency but she really enjoyed being a companion to the elderly. She went to the Schools of Barbour County and graduated from Philippi High School in 1962. The family would like to express a special thank you to Mountain Hospice and Nurses Lisa, Alisha, Sabrina, and Debbie. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday January 25, from 4-8 pm and on Tuesday January 26, from 8 am- 1 pm the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. U r in a much better place now, no more suffering for u, so now u r with your mom and dad, and all the others that have passed, we will both see u one day, we love and loved u very much, we pray your boys and families will just rely on God tohelp them thru this, and i know they will one day see u again, so for now remember we love u and will miss u very much, but Barb we know u r rejoicing, and we r weaping, so we need to b rejoicing with u, God bless this family.

  7. Barb helped take care of my mother when she was ill along with her sister, Connie. Such wonderful ladies. My thoughts and prayers for the family as you face the days ahead.
