Bernard Glenn Keene, age 84, a resident of Moatsville, WV passed away Saturday April 19, 2025 in Mon General Hospital. Bernard was born February 2, 1941 in Laurel Creek a son of Carl and Mable (Freeman) Keene.
Bernard worked in various sawmills and drove log trucks. Bernard loved hunting, fishing, golfing, and most of all driving race cars. He held the track record at Elkins Raceway for most laps led. In his younger years was offered to drive for NASCAR but declined the offer to stay with his family.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years Wilma (Poe) Keene; son William Keene and wife Debra; daughter Paulette Rowan husband David; daughter-in-law Mary Keene; grandchildren Sarah Zogal, Cecily Greco, Renee Erdie, Michael Jones, Kent Rowan, Ryleigh Rowan, Elizabeth Raschella, Sonya Keene, and Paula Keene; great grandchildren Abram Wells, Cameron Lynch, Sam Lynch, Chloe Jones, Chase Jones, Colt Jones, Annie Scott, Rodney Raschella, Brent Raschella, Ayden Raschella, Brantley Scott, Hazelee Watson; Randall Raschella, and Mason Glenn Scott; great great grandchildren Caleah, Calyopie, Calhani, Cambri; brothers Michael Keene, Roger Keene, Hayward Keene, and Richard Keene; and lifelong best friend Don Ritter.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Mable Keene; sons Rodney and Randall Keene; brother Ronald “Ronnie” Keene; granddaughter Randi Keene and Cheyenne Rowan; great granddaughter Maggie Erdie
A memorial service will be held on May 10, 2025 at 12 pm at the Pavillon located in the park at the Barbour County Fairgrounds. This will be a covered dish dinner.
