Bernard McBee, age 84, a resident of Maple Ave. Philippi and a former resident of Berea, OH for over 30 years passed away Monday, November 14, 2011 at his residence. He was born May 23, 1927 in Pleasant Creek, WV a son of the late Darnard Cecil and Nettie (Smith) McBee. He was united in marriage to his wife of 58 years Mary Lou (Ritter) McBee who preceded him in death March 12, 2010. Surviving are,

Kathy Sue McBee and Hollister Elliott of Canton, OH
Two grandsons, Andrew and Alexander Morton
He was preceded in death by one brother, Winford McBee, two sisters, Jessie Plummer and Mary Katherine McBee.
Bernard worked for Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, OH as a General Foreman and retired with 30 years of service. He served in the US Army during WWII. Bernard was a member of the Bigelow Lodge # 52 AF & AM, the Tygart Valley Shrine Club, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Sd USA Valley of Clarksburg Orient of WV, Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 41, and the Barbour Country Club and the Mansfield United Methodist Church. He loved sports, hunting and the outdoors, many will remember him as an avid golfer.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home on Friday November 18, from 5-7 pm. The Philippi Chapter #41 O.E. S will conduct services at 6 pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday November 19, from 8-10 am the service hour with Rev. Dr. Robert Sisler and Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with the Bigelow Lodge #52 conducting graveside rites and military honours will be accorded.
