Beverly Lynn Miner

July 22, 1957 ~ January 21, 2020

Beverly Lynn Miner, age 62, resident of Philippi, passed away from an extended illness on Tuesday January 21, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her beloved family and friends. Beverly was born July 22, 1957, in Canton, OH, a daughter of Arnold Eugene Dalton of Grafton and the late Matilda Jane “Barb” (Parsons) Dalton. Beverly was united in marriage on August 30, 1975 to her loving husband, Carl Miner who survives at home. Also surviving is Daughter, Kimberly Smith and husband Jamie of Elkins Son, Shawn Miner and wife Jessica of Philippi Brothers, Timothy Dalton and wife Treasa of Grafton Butch Dalton and wife Karen of Grafton Kevin Dalton and wife Crystal of Grafton Gregory Dalton and wife Jenny of Bridgeport Beverly worked at Rite Aid and IGA in Philippi. She proudly went back to school to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse and graduated in 2003. She worked as a Nurse at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, where she was loved by all her coworkers and patients. She enjoyed crocheting and experiencing new adventures with friends. But most of all, she loved family vacations to Pigeon Forge. Beverly also served as treasurer for Philippi Southern Baptist Church where she was a member. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday January 25, from 5-8 pm and on Sunday January 26, from 8 am- 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm with Pastor Jim Strawderman officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery.

  2. Beverly was a favorite student of mine years ago. Her smiling personality and studious attitude made her a special young woman. I am so sorry to hear of her death. Because I will be out of town this weekend, I will be unable to attend her funeral service. My condolences to the family… Karen Larry

  3. Heaven gained a beautiful angel… Bev was a sweet, compassionate nurse and friend. I enjoyed knowing her and working with her. I never heard Bev say an unkind word. May God give her family strength and blessings, and may Bev rest peacefully in Heaven.

  5. I worked with Bev at the rite aid in phillipi and then again at the va hospital when she was a nurse — we had a lot of laughs together — she was a really special person — RIP BEV — CAL

  6. Joe Noble and I(Debbie) lived in hollow near the minors when our children were young. Beverly was a wonderful neighbor. She was always smiling sweet and kind. She will deeply be missed
