Billy Gene Robinson age 81 a resident of Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County and a former resident of Rt. 4 Philippi passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010. He was born April 4, 1929 in Simpson, WV a son of the late Dick Robinson and Jessie (Whitehair) Emerson. Surviving is:

Three daughters, Jessie (Sis) Tacy, Philippi
Annie Darnell and husband John of Belington
Mary Jane Alexander and husband Scott, Philippi
Three sons, Clarence Ray (Dink) Robinson and wife Linda, Rt. 1 Moatsville
Joseph (Joe) Gene Robinson and wife Stephanie, Columbus, OH
Rick Robinson and wife Billie, Elkins
One sister, Della Wheeler of Marion Co.
20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren
Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by two sons Billie Junior Robinson and William Buddy Robinson, and one brother, William Junior Taylor.
Mr. Robinson was a coal miner at the Marra Mines at Bear Mountian, worked for the WV Department of Highways, and was a former gravedigger for Stemple and Forman Funeral Home. He served in the US Army during WWII, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, and scooter.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday, December 15 from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. and Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. the service hour with Rev. Dr. Robert Sisler officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with military honours being accorded.
