Blair Wyatt

Life Legacy Blair M. Wyatt, 74, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2017 at home after his courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born April 25, 1943 in Brownton, WV to Bruce and Gladys (Rowan) Wyatt. Blair was a 1964 graduate of Philip Barbour High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for six years, On August 27, 1964, he married Sandra Hotsinpilller of Philippi. Blair is survived by two daughters: Nancy and her husband David Gillis of Mount Sidney, Virginia, and Jana Scott and her fiancé Kenny Brown of Weyers Cave, Virginia. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Tyler Gillis and girlfriend Rebecca Wright of Mount Sidney, Virginia, Megan Scott and boyfriend Brandon McDonaldson of Grottoes, Virginia, and Courtney Scott and boyfriend Dakota Morris of Weyers Cave, Virginia. Surviving his passing also includes nephew Junior Crouse and wife Cheryl and their children: Lindsay and fiancé Brandon Arbogast, Brittany and fiancé Mikey Weaver, and Wesley Crouse and wife Leana. One niece, Sharon and husband Gary Gedraitis, and their son Michael. Blair is also survived by many, many close friends. Blair was preceded in death by his sisters: Betty Cassana and Faye Crouse, and brother, James. Employment included working for Bruce Mining, Stanley Brothers and King Knob Coal Company as a surface miner. He retired from the City of Philippi in 2005. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church of Philippi and enjoyed watching the Steelers, Pirates and Mountaineers in his spare time. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday August 14, from 4-6 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 6 pm with Pastor Jim Strawderman officiating. Military rites will be accorded following the funeral service. Mr. Wyatt's request for cremation will be honored. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to: Mountain Hospice 1002 S.
