Carl Leo Ball, age 85, a resident of North Canton, OH passed away Friday July 23, 2010 in the Summa Medical Center, in Akron, OH. He was born February 4, 1925 in Moatsville, WV a son of the late George Holland and Lilly May (Annon) Ball. He was united in marriage to his wife of years Bonnie B. (Travis) Ball who preceded him in death on November 11, 2006. Surviving is:

Hayward Ball and wife Lucille of Cincinnati , OH
Wilbert Ball and wife Doris of Greenville, NC
Cecil Ball and wife Darlene of Fredrick, MD
David Ball and wife Henritta of SC
Several nieces and nephews
Mr. Ball was preceded in death by three brothers: Hubert Earl Ball, Charles William Ball, and Lewis W. Ball.
Mr. Ball was a metal spinner and stamper for Stolitzko and Son Company in Akron, OH, he served in the US Army from 1950-1952. He loved airplanes and won an award during high school for constructing a model airplane. He had a great love for music and playing the guitar, he made a lot of recordings and songs. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at his cabin. He also enjoyed listening and telling jokes.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday July 24, from 5-8 p.m. and on Sunday July 25, from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery with military honours being accorded. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Cemetery c/o/ Raymond Moats Rt. 2 Box 149 C Philippi, WV 26416.
