Charles Ball, Jr. age 85 a resident of Tucson, Arizona and former resident of Philippi passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018. He was born March 12, 1932 in Roanoke, WV a son of the late Charles Ball, Sr. and Anna (Rankin) Ball. He was united in marriage March 12, 1965 to Rena Mae (Voiers) Ball who preceded him in death September 13, 2007. Surviving are- Two daughters, Peggy Stutler and husband Robert of Tucson, AZ Nancy Phipps of Buckhannon One son, Robert Ball of Philippi Two grandsons, John Bradley Stutler, Martinsburg Robert Stutler, Jr. of Tucson, AZ Seven great-grandchildren- Lorien Stutler, Kristen Stutler, Megan Stutler, Sarah Stutler, Stacey Stutler and Shawn Shelby He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Ann Ball; one sister, Betty Ervin and one brother, Jimmy Ball Mr. Ball served in the U.S. Marine Corps He worked as a coal miner for Badger Coal Mines Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday, January 12 from 1-2 pm the service hour with Pastor Sam Haught officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
