Daniel Wilson Ferguson age 88 a resident of 4-H Road Philippi, was born on January 25, 1925 in Barbour Co. a son of the late A.J. and Maude (Phillips) Ferguson. The last surviving member of his family departed this life on October 19, 2013 at Mon General Hospital surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty (Gribble) Ferguson.

One daughter, Nancy Ware of Belington

Six sons, Kenneth and wife Judy
Philip and wife Sandy of 4-H Road
David and wife Susan of Arthurdale, WV
Paul of Grafton
Timothy and wife Holly
Michael and wife Tonya both of Belington

Thirteen grandchildren, Charles; Daniel; Chris; Angela; Amanda; Taylor; Andrew; Matthew; Stephen; Michaela; Cari; Annie and Mimi

Two great-grandchildren, Skylar and Dustin

One sister-in-law, Edith Cox
Two brother-in-laws, Guy and wife Barb Gribble
Edward and wife Helen Gribble

Many special nieces and nephews and cousins

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Virgil; George; Elwood; Wayne and Omar; two sisters, Mary Andrews and Sylvia Ervin

He was a World War II veteran having served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines on Okinawa and Iwo Jima
He was a retired iron worker Local 568, a life member of the VFW 410 in Belington and member of the Little Bethel Baptist Church.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday October 21, 2013 from 5-8 pm and on Tuesday October 22 from 8-11 am the service hour with Pastor Randy Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Bethel Cemetery.
