Darlene Marie Russ age 56 a resident of Elk Creek Rd. Philippi passed away on Monday, January 25, 2016 following injuries sustained in a tractor accident. She was born December 16, 1959 in Bedford, OH a daughter of the late Robert Cross and Marie (Gephart) Petrovich of Mentor, OH and adopted father, Gene Collins of Cleveland, OH. She was united in marriage January 30, 1981 to John Dale Russ, Jr. Surviving is,
one daughter, Jaimie Lee (Russ) Liston and husband Robert of Albright
one son, Kyle Jonathan Russ and wife Shannon of Bridgeport
six grandchildren- Isiah Russ-Corder, Elena Marie Liston, Liam Liston all of Albright; Canzanda Pandora Russ, Alexis Marie Russ, and Landon Anthony Russ all of Bridgeport
two sisters, Lisa Cross-Voyticek
Renee Collins
three brothers, Robert Collins
Christopher Collins
David Collins all of Cleveland, OH
Darlene worked in the Payroll Department of A-B University.
She was a breast cancer survivor, avid with the American Red Cross and adored her grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday, January 28th from 5-7 pm, on Friday, January 29th from 12-3 pm and 4-7 pm and on Saturday, January 30th from 8 am-1 pm the service hour with Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Flemington I.O.O.F Cemetery.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Russ family and friends. Darlene will be greatly missed at AB and in Philippi. Such a lovely and kind person. Sending prayers for peace and comfort.
So sorry to hear of this tragedy. Darlene and John were both good people and good neighbors. Lost track of them after moving from art 57 but ran into her downtown this summer with the grandkids. She loved them dearly. Prayers to the whole family.
Darlene displayed kindness and compassion in everything she did. She always went out of her way to help others, both at work and at home. We have lost one of the finest persons I have ever known. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
I remember Darlene from my days at AB. She was very kind and helpful to my dad and everyone. Darlene will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure of working with Darlene while I was doing my college work study!!! She was a wonderful lady who was always so helpful and pleasant!!! She will be greatly missed by all!!! Prayers for the family as you deal with this tremendous loss!!!

Darlene worked hard in her job, getting her degree, and was such a kind, sincere person who I enjoyed working with at ABU. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and may God give you grace, strength, and comfort to face this very difficult time and the days ahead.
Darlene was a important person to me, she was my bridesmaid in my wedding and will be deeply missed in my heart.

Darlene will be sadly missed, she helped me all the way from Germany as my son was preparing to start at AB. I was so happy to finally meet her face to face when he started his freshman year. I asked where is Darlene and gave her a big hug. My Condolences to her and her husbands Family.
