David J. Duckworth, age 96, a resident of Talbott’s Personal Care, passed away Sunday August 4, 2019 in Davis Medical Center. David was born August 15, 1922 in Barbour County, WV a son the late J.J. and Chloe (Moats) Duckworth. Surviving is-

David was preceded in death by one daughter, Johna Forman, brothers, John William Duckworth, Jospeh “Joe” Duckworth, sisters, Abigale Stemple, Lena Duckworth, Rose Duckworth, Margaret Duckworth and Bridgette Duckworth.
David worked as a laborer for the Laborer’s International Union of North America, he was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #41 in Belington, and David enjoyed socializing and meeting new people.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday August 6, from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday August 7, from 8 am – 3 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 3pm. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with military honors being accorded.

We loved Dave. He was a wonderful brother in law and a brave vetran to parachute into the unknown in WWII. He was so good to the Mouser family helping whenever he could in the hay fields and whatever needed done. God Bless you Dave and your family. RIP.
