David Ray Casto, age 71, a resident of Philippi, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in the United Hospital Center. David was born February 25, 1949 in Philippi, a son of the late Earl Ray and Pauline Vera (Dadisman) Casto. David was united in marriage on December 5, 1997 to Mary Louise (Overfield) Casto who survives at home. Also surviving are-

Thad Knight and wife Emily Shahan of Philippi
13 grandchildren, Jazzie, Ray, Jordan, Jyra, Kayleigh, David, Kera, Danelle, Delaney, Sophia, Sullivan, Michael, and Gevony
Great grandchildren, Easton, and Emilia
David retired from Lighthouse as a superintendent. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, he was an avid farmer. David was an active volunteer fireman for Philippi Fire Department.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday January 29, from 5-8 pm and on Saturday January 30, from 8am- 1 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm with Pastor Sam Haught, and Chaplain of the Philippi Fire Department Rev. Bob Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. Due to the Governor’s Mandate face masks and social distancing will be required for everyone attending the services.







This is a really shock I’m the manager at the Rich gas station Dave was a very great man never had a bad word for anyone always had to stop by and have his coffee and red man. He like talking to us and was never in a hurry. Sure am going to miss him. Lorinda Jones
