Della Lantz

Della J. Lantz, age 67, a resident of Sand Run Rd. Philippi, passed away Sunday May 21, 2017 at her residence. She was born July 2, 1949 in Lumberport, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Alma (Layman) Cozad. Della was united in marriage on August 14, 1976 to Denzil L. Lantz Sr. who preceded her in death on April 22, 2000. Surviving are Four children, Lisa Shifflet and husband Robert of Junior Denzil L. Lantz Jr. and wife Cheryl of Moorefield Roddy L. Lantz and wife Sheila of Belington Juanita Martin and husband Joseph, OH Six brothers and three sisters, Richard Cozad and wife Regina of SC David Cozad of Laurel Lea, WV Alfred Cozad and wife Brenda Bernard Cozad and wife Lida John Cozad and wife Barb Chester Cozad and wife Bonnie all of WV Helen Wiles of Shinnston Sue Gorbey Cherrie Williston both of Philippi Two aunts, Juanita Knisell of NY Olive Layman Uncle, John Layman of MT Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews Della was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law, Linda Pinkham and husband Stanley Pinkham, brother and sister-in-law, Chuck Cozad and wife Luvy Cozad. Della was a homemaker and was a member of the VFW Post #410 Ladies Auxiliary, and attended the Silent Grove Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday May 24, from 4-8 pm and Thursday May 25, from 8 am- 1 pm the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Liberty Cemetery.
