Deloris Duckworth

Deloris Duckworth age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 8, 2020. Deloris was born January 24, 1929 in Flemington, WV, a daughter of Leslie and Opal (Moats) Haddix. On April 2, 1948 she married Joseph Duckworth who passed away August 30, 2017. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Haddix. She is survived by one son Larry D. Duckworth and wife Amanda, and one daughter Shelia Tenney. Two grandchildren Denice Barkey and husband Keith, and Danny Bryan Tenney. Three step-grandchildren Mike, Amy, Jennie. Three great-grandchildren, Kyle J. Paugh, Logan K. Barkey and Kaitlyn Barkey. Also two step great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and James Braden, and her faithful cat, Tammy. Deloris was a 50+ member of the CEOS club, she loved doing crafts and was very talented, and she made several beautiful items all by hand. She attended Mary’s Chapel Church for over 60 years. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday July 9, from 6-8 pm and on Friday July 10, from 8-11 am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am with Pastor Rick Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Marsh Family Cemetery.

    So sorry to hear of Deloris' passing. She and your Dad were always so kind to me. Anytime I saw them in the grocery store or in town they would always stop and talk and ask about my family. God bless you with peace and comfort at this difficult time.
