Denver James “Jim” Winans, age 71 a resident of Philippi and a former resident of Volga, passed away Tuesday October 11, 2022 at his residence. Jim was born April 19, 1951 in Barbour County a son of the late Donald Clyde Winans and Josephine Grace (Murphy) Winans. Jim was united in marriage on June 25, 1976 to Vernetta Jane (Loar) Winans who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Vanessa Anderson and Kenny Anderson, Jaimie Jordan and companion Richard Austin. Grandchildren, Dustin Anderson, Lucas Anderson, Coleen Anderson, Shane Jordan, and Zakk Jordan. Siblings, Donna Jo Weese and husband Gilbert of Ohio, Deloris Wagner and husband Jim, Darlene Murphy and husband Glenn Heuerman, Diane Suder and husband Ronnie, Junior Winans, Ellwood Rosencrance. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by brother, Ray Rosencrance. Jim enjoyed gardening, hunting, traveling with his family and going on camping trips.
In honor of Jim’s request cremation will be honored. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Hospice 1002 South Crim Ave. Belington, WV 26250.
