Donald Crites

February 19, 1937 ~ July 31, 2015

Donald Karl Lee Crites, age 78, started his fight with cancer in South Carolina in October 2006, after selling his home in 2013 he moved to WV to live with his daughter in Clarksburg. Donald lost his fight on Friday July 31, 2015 in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. He was born on February 19, 1937 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Holbert Lincoln Crites Sr. and Audra Marie (Auvil) Crites. Surviving are Four Children: Donald Lynn Crites and wife Tammie of Morgantown Deborah Parks and Fiancé Anthony Colombo of Clarksburg Brenda Truscott and husband Bruce of Bangor, PA Dennis Jay Crites and wife Melanie of Lexington, NC Two Sisters, Eleanor Jean Propst of Philippi Nina L. Crites of Newport, OR One Brother, Edward J. Crites of Cross City, FL Five Grandchildren- Stevie Wise, of Fairmont; Troy Koon of Morgantown; Dusty Wolle of Bagor, PA; Cynthia Truscott of PA and Chelsey Colombo of Clarksburg Four Great-Grandchildren- Leighton, Drystan, and Genavieve Wolle and Letti McDonald Mr. Crites was preceded in death by one brother, Holbert Lincoln Crites, Jr. and one grandson, Cam McDonald. He served in the U.S. Air Force and also worked as a retail manager for the Army Air Force Exchange Service. He was a past Exalted Ruler of the BPOE Elks in Fairmont. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday, August 3, 2015 from, 5-8 pm and on Tuesday, August 4, from 8-11 am the service hour with Pastor Gina Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Philippi Masonic Cemetery with full military honors being accorded. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wrightfuneralhomeservices.com

  4. I am sorry for your loss. Don was a fraternity brother Kappa Sigma Kappa at Fairmont State in the 1950's.

  6. Sorry for loss of a wonderful person from the Strader Family – Iris K; Dorris G; Sonny and Willa. We have fond memories of great times with the Crites family in 4-H as well as school activities.
