Donna Jean Davis, age 62, a resident of Philippi, passed away Tuesday October 24, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family. Donna was born December 14, 1960 in Philippi a daughter of the late Virgil Allen and Barbara Jane (Mayle) Collins. Donna was united in marriage on December 23, 2000 to Edward M. Davis who survives at home.
Also surviving are children, Matthew J. Davis, Crystal D. Sanders, and Elizabeth “Beth” Thorne all of Philippi; grandchildren, Grace, Riley, and Kennedy Sanders, Nevaeh, Ayden and Paisley Thorne; sisters, Sheri and the late John McDaniel, Emily Dalton and husband Glenn, and Christina Collins all of Philippi; several nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Barbara Collins, and sister, Eleanor Hoag.
Donna worked at Shop n Save in the Deli and Bakery Department. Donna loved God and was a member of the Ford Run Pentecostal Church. She was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School Class of 1979. Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed cleaning and was a very organized person.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday October 27, from 6-8pm and on Saturday October 28, from 9 am- 1 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm with Pastor Geneva Mayle officiating. Interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery.
