Doris Lou (Boyles) Green of Philippi passed September 22, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Doris was the daughter of the late Austin Denver and Gladys Gay (Poling) Boyles of Tacy. She was born on July 3, 1933, attending grammar school through the 8th grade at Tacy and graduating from Philippi High School with the class of 1951. She graduated from WV Business College at Clarksburg the following year. She worked for many years for Dr. Karl J. Myers Clinic in Philippi. Later working for and retiring from the Dept. of Human Services at Philippi and Grafton.
Doris was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Austin, and Byron Boyles, paternal grandparents Abraham J. and Georgia Ellen (Sturm) Boyles and maternal grandparents Luther B. (Delphia Gainer) Poling and 2nd wife Ina Laura (Strawderman) Poling.
Doris was married for 62 years to Delaine E. Green who survives at Philippi. Also surviving are their three children: R. Craig (Janetta Williams) of Shermansdale, PA; Marcia M. (Dave) Kisner of Colfax, WV; DeAnn Kirkland of Reminderville, OH. Six grandchildren; Melissa (Josh) Brennan and Aaron Green; Eric and Kristen Kisner; Sarah Howdershelt (Tim) Loughry of Morgantown, WV and Cleveland, OH and Derek Kirkland. Five great grandchildren: Abby, Emalea, Logan, Tyler, and Izabella Brennan.
Doris was a faithful member of the Cross Roads United Methodist Church at Tacy and was a 55 year member of the United Methodist Women.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday September 24, from 2-8 pm and on Sunday September 25, from 8 am- 2 pm the service hour with Rev. Gilbert Hart and Rev. James Steele officiating. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery at Tacy.

Doris Lou was a good person and always treated people with so much kindness. I know she will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her.I pray that you can find peace in the wonderful memories that you have of her. I am so sorry for your loss.
