Edith Corder

Edith Lenora (Wolfe) Swecker Corder, age 94 a resident of Union Rd. Philippi passed away on Saturday August 29, 2015 at the home of her daughter. She was born December 8, 1920 in Philippi a daughter of the late Lonnie and Lurah Jane (Miller) Wolfe. Edith was twice married first to Warrick John Swecker and second to James Corder both who preceded her in death. Surviving is One daughter, Joanne Hovatter and husband Steve of Philippi Two sisters, Delma Burner of Barberton, OH Carol Allen of Plainfield, IL One brother, Charles Wolfe of Shreveport, LA Three grandchildren, Craig Weaver and wife, Sally of Morgantown, Aaron Johnson of Pittsburgh, Deanna Fletcher and husband, Ben of Philippi Seven great grandchildren, Tyler Shomo, Austyn Fletcher, Alyssa Weaver, Jenna Waugh, Ashleigh Weaver, Amanda Weaver, Landyn Fletcher Edith retired from First Central Bank in Philippi as a Bank teller with over 40 years of service. She was an avid bowler and loved watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday August 31, from 5-8 pm and on Tuesday September 1, from 8 am – 2 pm the service hour with Pastor Mark Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in the Marsh Cemetery.
