Edith Ruth (Gribble) Cox, age 93, a resident of the Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County died on Tuesday January 7, 2020 following an extended illness. She was born on May 4, 1926 at Philippi a daughter of the late Howard and Bernice (Bolton) Gribble. She was married to Kenneth Cox on February 27, 1958 who preceded her in death in 1983.
Surviving is a step daughter, Winnie and husband Chuck Ward of PA.
Brother, Edward Gribble and wife Helen of Indianapolis, IN, Sister, Betty Ferguson of Belington, many nieces and nephews and friends.
Edith was preceded in death by Brother, Guy Gribble, sister-in-law Barbara Gribble, Brother-in-law, Daniel Ferguson and nephew Trent Gribble.
Edith retired from the Myers Clinic having worked there for some 30 years. She was a member of the Jerusalem Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday January 10, from 6-8 pm and on Saturday January 11, from 8- 11 am. Funeral services will be held at 11 am with Speaker Lewis Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow in the Marsh Memorial Cemetery.
