Edward Eugene Heatherly age 75 a resident of Rt. 1 Philippi passed away Monday, November 23, 2009. He was born December 1, 1933 in Berryburg a son of the late Marcellas and Daisy (Williams) Heatherly. He was united in marriage in October 16, 1959 to Wanda M. (Jones) Heatherly who survives. Seven Step-Great Grandchildren; Brittany, Briana and Tyler Orndorff; Brandon, Hayleigh, Caleb and Victoria Ward.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Betsy Heatherly.
He was a retired coal miner with 38 years’ service, he worked for Badger Coal Co. for several years and retired from Anchor Coal Co. as a shuttle car operater.
He was a vetern of the U.S. Army having served from 1956-1958, a member of the UMWA District #31 and a member of the Grafton Wesleyan Holiness Church in Webster.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 3:00 -8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 8:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. the service hour with Rev. David Maley officiating. Interment will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery.
