Edward Stupak

Edward Michael Stupak, age 84, a resident of Rt. 2 Tacy Community Philippi passed away Monday May 6, 2013 unexpectedly at his residence. He was born June 15, 1928 on Toledo, OH a son of the late Michael and Mary (Bodnar) Stupak. He was united in marriage on May 19, 1950 in Ashville, NC to Charlotte Ruth (Bibbee) Stupak who survives. Also surviving Three children: Charmane Lynn Stupak of Philippi Claudette Faye Thorne and husband Jim of Belington Edward Louis Stupak and wife Brenda of Wheeling One brother, Ernie Stupak and wife Mary of Akron, OH Five grandchildren, Jade (Thorne) Meagher and husband Tim of Bridgeport Michael Thorne and wife Laura of Philippi Craig Thorne and fiancée Kelly of Philippi SPC Travis Stupak Stationed at Fort Bragg of the 82nd Airborne Nicole Stupak of Wheeling Four great grandchildren Christian and Sarah Meagher of Bridgeport Izak Thorne of Philippi Cash Thorne of Philippi Three step great grandchildren Cody England, Gabriel and Heidi Arevalo, all of Philippi Ed was a graduate from Wellsburg High School. He served in the US Navy during WWII with the Seabees. He worked as a boss on the preparation plant at the Windsor Coal Mine and Valley Camp #1, and was also a machinist and boss for Valley Machine Co. in Wheeling. Ed was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his yard. He also enjoyed bowling and golf. He was a member of the Tacy United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday May 8, from 11am – 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm with Pastor Johnny Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Marsh Cemetery at Tacy with military honors being accorded. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made Barbour All County Sports Organization PO Box 53 Philippi, WV 26416.
