Ervin Severn McVicker
August 29, 1932 ~ December 5, 2021
Ervin Severn McVicker, age 89, a resident of Carrollton Community in Barbour County, passed away Sunday December 5, 2021 in the WV Caring Nursing Facility in Elkins. Severn was born August 29, 1932 a son of the late Otwa S. and Inies (Nuzum) McVicker.
Severn was preceded in death by one brother.
He served in the US Army
He worked two short temporary jobs in his lifetime LaRosa Fuel Golf Club and on the pipline.
Severn was a longtime farmer. He liked to fish and hunt, he liked to joke and tease people often. He had many special friend and relatives and will be sadly missed. Jesus is Severn’s lord and savior.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday December 9, from 9-11 am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

In memory of Ervin Severn McVicker, Bill Perks lit a candle
I have fond memories as a child of Severn and his beautiful property. I remember hunting groundhogs there with my father John Calvin. I did not truly appreciate the fun character Severn was until I became an adult.
He was a good man. RIP dear Severn.

I have many fond memories of spending a week in the summers with Severn, Aunt Innes and Uncle Ottaway on the “home place.” Three months apart, we grew up together.
