Ethel Hibbs

Ethel Marie Hibbs, age 92, a resident of South Main St. Philippi passed away Sunday April 4, 2010 at her residence. She was born November 8, 1917 at Mannington, WV a daughter of the late Virgil Clark and Stella (Hildreth) Hall. Ethel was united in marriage June 12, 1938 to Clyde J. Hibbs. Jr. who preceded her in death on March 16, 2004. Surviving are, Two daughters: Carolyn Davis and husband, George Marilyn Runion and husband, David, all of Philippi Two grandchildren: Charles Davis and wife ,Tani, of Lexington, KY Georgann Davis of Elkins Three great-grandchildren: Megan Scott and husband, Steven, of Lexington, KY Erin Davis and Caitlin Davis, both of Philippi One great -great grandchild: Ryan Poole of Lexington, KY and close family friend, Susan Heck of Elkins Ethel was preceded in death by one brother, Stanley E. Hall. She was a member of the Philippi Baptist Church and Philippi Chapter # 41 O.E.S. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday April 7, from 4-8 p.m. The Philippi Chapter #41 O.E. S will conduct services at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Visitation will resume on Thursday April 8, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. the service hour with Rev. Jon Villers officiating. Entombment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
